Jazzing up with pins

Hi y'all! I haven't posted in a while. I was able to go to Washington DC for a week to visit my husband. It was a blast! I even went shopping at the mall without any little kids. I went where I wanted to and walked at my own pace...seems trivial but it was wonderful. Those with little kids understand. ;)
Today on Practical Scrappers we are featuring projects that are jazzed up with pins. I made this layout for the challenge. I used my sketch 144 for inspiration.

The pins I used are jazzed up with a simple flower and button.

I loaded my page up with flower dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and Groovy Petals from Creative Charms.

Oh, by the way, Creative Charms is having a massively awesome clearance sale right now so stock up!

Till next time!

On my banners!

Check out this amazing sketch from Pagemaps by Becky Fleck.

It's totally different, I know,... and I love it!
This sketch was chosen to be this month's sketch challenge at Birds Of A Feather.
I chose to place my photos in the bottom corner instead of on the banners so it turned out a bit different. That's what's so great about sketches, right?

This awesome cork-looking paper is from one of my favorite retired companies, Dream Street Papers.

I had fun digging through my stash and scraps to complete the page. I also used plenty of rhinestone stickers from the wonderful, Creative Charms.

Till next time!

Oh Happy Day with Practical Scrappers

Today at Practical Scrappers we are featuring projects with black matting. Here is the layout I created for the showcase.
I got my inspiration for this layout from the fabulous Heather Leopard. One of the challenges at Birds Of A Feather this month is to scraplift a project from the gallery, this one caught my eye for sure.

Since the challenge is to do matting in black I chose to outline several of my elements with a Sharpie marker. I love the way it turned out - nice and crisp.

Its been a while since I used my Cheery Lynn Designs dies, I love these things!

Have a scrap-happy day!

Practical Scrapper's Challenge Me Tuesday

Yesterday's post on Practical Scrappers showcases several ideas of projects with banners, without using the typical triangular shape.
Here is one that I posted.

The next Challenge Me Tuesday challenge is to make layouts and cards using trendy black matting. Send your email, with CMT and the challenge in the subject to practicalscrapperslayouts@gmail.com, along with a link to the project and your name. We'd love to see your creation up on the blog too.

The cutest cow in town

The pig goes oink, the cow goes moooo.

I wish all cows were as cute as this one! My neice is a doll in her costume.
Check out the cute flowers from petaloo and Creative Charms. I cut out random cow spots from the black glitter cardstock to make it a little more girly. Glitter is always good. :) The paper is from Best Creation.

For my inspiration I used a sketch that I made back in the Spring, sketch 121.

Laytout Inspiration with Creative Charms

Hello there and Happy Monday! Today I'd like to share a few layouts I made adorned with beautiful embellishments from Creative Charms.

Tweet Babies

I used the beautiful Vintage Pearl Brads to add detail to my banners at the top of my layout. I also added a few black Gradient Gem stickers to my little birdie's eyes to make them really pop.

You may recognize the design from my most recent sketch below...

Cuz Crazy

I had fun adding the cute yellow Groovy Petal flowers and a few blue Knitter's Garden flowers. Both are adorable flowers embellies. You'll find a few Amber Gradient Gem stickers throughout the layout as well.

I used Crate Paper's Neighborhood collection for both projects. Aren't these just the cutest papers??

That's it for me today. Have a great start to your week!
