City Sidewalks with Memorable Seasons

In the air there's a feeling of Christmas...

This month I got to play with Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks collection from my monthly Memorable Seasons kit  -what fun!

Its been fun digging through Christmas pictures from last year. The Salt Lake Temple is extra beautiful this time of year. The lights and the feeling on the grounds are warm and wonderful. My little man is so cute with his rosy cheeks and Santa hat.

Sitting Beauty

I love mixing bright colors and patterns together. I found this great, simple guide on Pinterest. The guide is meant for home decor but it looks great for mixing scrapbook patterened papers as well.
 I pulled the first combo together for my page below -polka dots and floral.

This month at Memorable Seasons I am working with October Afternoon's Woodland Park . Talk about cute!! I love the variety of colors in this collection and of course the cute little critters are adorable - especially great for kid pages.

I have a few projects to share today and more to come later in the month.

To make the ruffled circle, I cut out a few doilies (3) with my die cut machine. I cut out the center circle of each doily. I then folded them in each direction and connected them to complete the look. Pretty easy.

Being the youngest of 5 kids, as a young child I always wanted a younger sibling. Luckily my niece is just 10 years younger than me so we were very close growing up. Most people think we look like sisters. I would claim her my sister any day - I love this girl!

Pinterest-ing!

Happy Monday! And Happy Veteran's day to all of you veterans and families of veterans.
Are you addicted to Pinterest like most of the rest of us? I have found so many recipes (which I actually use) and ideas from Pinterest. Sometimes inspiration comes from ways you may not think...'pinterest-ing'.

Today on Practical Scrappers we are featuring projects that were inspired by pictures on Pinterest.

Love these papers? These are the new Glitz Cashmere Dame which I purchased from the Memorable Seasons store.

My inspiration came from this gorgeous dress. The colors and flowers gave me an idea for my layout.

Unbe*leaf* ably Nuts

The leaves are starting to fall here in Virginia but man,... what a beautiful few weeks we have had. The trees look like they are on fire, it's been GORGEOUS!
Maybe if this storm doesn't hit us too hard we can enjoy them for even longer.

I've got a few more projects to share with you using the last of my October kit from Memorable Seasons. I never realized how much I love Simple Stories until I got to work with their Harvest Lane collection.

I pulled out a few dies from my days of working on the Cheery Lynn Design DT to make this shaped card.

The fall leaves are so fun to work with. I cut them out with with a dark yellowish orange paper, inked the edges red and brown and then crumpled them up to make them look realistic.

I did that same process with the leaves below.I kept my design pretty simple so the focus can be on the leaves.

We took a few hours on Sunday to take a drive through Prince William County forest. Of course the scenery was spectacular so I was happy I remembered my camera. I got some great pics of my family.

Getting banner-happy!

Hola chicas! Today on Practical Scrappers we are featuring cards and layouts using the banners and garlands. I discovered how much I love to bunch up banner strips below my flower clusters. I have two layouts to show you using this technique.

I used Pretty Little Studio's ever-so-popular Sandcastle collection. One look at these papers and you'll see why they are so popular.

This is a day we'll always remember -going to the National Zoo with our little man. We got to spend about 5 days alone with my youngest son while we spent the week in VA and DC looking for a house. He loved the one-on-one attention and I loved babying him as much as he'd let me.

The following layout was made from my October kit from Memorable Seasons using papers from Simple Stories. -Gosh I love the prints in this one!

Memorable Seasons and Harvest Lane -Part 2

As promised, here are a few more projects I have done using Simple Stories' Harvest Lane collection from my Memorable Seasons kit this month.

I just love these cute jar images. They are super cute!

My youngest daughter is going to be 12 next week. Man, I'm getting old! I no longer have any little girls in the house and that's just sad. Time to figure out how to slow down the process so my boys can stay little.

Memorable Seasons and Harvest Lane

Hello and happy Wednesday!

It is Wednesday, right? I've been a little under the weather so I'm kinda' confused and a bit out of it these days.

One thing I do know is how awesome my October kit from Memorable Seasons is! I got to work with the Harvest Lane collection from Simple Stories and its really getting me in the Fall mood. The colors in this collection are great, I didn't feel like I had to go with the Fall theme for all of my projects.

I've got a few projects done and more are to come.

I pulled out of old colored wire for this one. -That was fun.

This is a day I will always remember. Our youngest child got to tag along with my husband and I as we flew from Utah to DC to look for a house back in May. His siblings stayed home with relatives since they were in school. He LOVED getting all of our attention and getting that one-on-one that all kids need. I have a feeling that the memories from that trip will stick with him for a long time.

I love Instagram. I figured out how to print the pictures from Instagram by emailing them to myself and going from there. Brilliant! ;)

Everything here was glued down with my oh-so-wonderful adhesives Helmar!

Whoooo Are You Thankful for?

Shaped cards are so fun to make, I love the paper piecing aspect of it. I made this card using my kit from Memorable Seasons. These fall papers from Jillibean's Pumpkin Chowder collection were so perfect for it, I couldn't be happier.

On Practical Scrappers this week we had a challenge to use flower punches in a unique way, I had a little fun with that. ;)

Finally, I challenged the gals from Memorable Seasons to think out of the box and create something other than a card or layout. I made this little mini calendar for my craft room using the same Jillibean kit.

The back of one of the Jillibean sheets has these small calendar months on it. I cut those out and attached them using brads. When the month is over I can simply rip it off to see the next month.

Helmar Makes My World Go 'Round

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I am going to share a few projects I made with the industry's best glue - Helmar!

I have had this old vase taking up space in my cabinets for a few years now and I know I'll never use it so I decided to re-vamp it...

...into this candlestick!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun this was to do. To make the thick twine stick to the vase I brushed on a little Helmar Decoupage at a time and then continued wrapping the twine around the vase until it was completely covered. I decorated it with some raffia and some nice, fall decorations. This is going to look great on my mantle.

Last but not least, the Helmar DT was lucky enough to partner up with Art Institute this week! I received some beautiful bottles of glitter and micro beads.

For the fall tree at the bottom, I used a mask and some mist for the dark color. Once that dried I drew some swirly shapes straight from my bottle of Helmar's Acid Free Glue. I poured on a thick layer of Art Institute's Ultrafine Pearlescent in Kiwi.

I even made little apple shapes by dotting on some glue with a Q-tip and pouring on some fun small glass beads in Oro Gold color.

The centers of my flowers were treated with more glass beads in red.

Feeling like fall with Memorable Seasons and Jillibean

I was so excited to see that my kit this month was full of goodies from Jillibean Soup's County Corn Chowder. The mornings are getting cooler here and scrapbooking with this collection makes it feel even more like fall. I'm loving it!

My boys wrestle...a lot. Its fun to see friends and cousins who don't have brothers to wrestle with come over and jump in on the fun - well, it's fun until someone gets hurt. ;)

8 is great! Thats for sure! I love this little guy.

This layout was made for a challenge where we were supposed to alter chipboard on our project. I painted the "AID" latters black and then covered them with microbeads. I love this look.

Back when I started scrapbooking...oh, about 13 years ago... paper piecing was very popular and I loved it! I found myself creating the following layout using the same old technique.
