Helmar and Epiphany Cutting Board

The Helmar Hotties and I have been lucky enough to each receive a package of Epiphany Crafts goodies to play with.

I altered this small cutting board (decoration) below using the Epiphany epoxies, My Mind's Eye paper and of course, Helmar glue.

The for the charm, Gemstone Glue worked great. Everything else was glued down with 450 Quick Dry Adhesive for a quick, strong hold.

Gift Card Holders

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Today on Practical Scrappers we are featuring gift card holders. Getting a gift card for a loved one is fun and easy but to package them in your own unique way is even better.I found this plastic gift card holder, still in its package, at my local thrift store. It's cute, but I thought I'd alter it a bit to make it even more special.

I cover it and decorated it with leftover scraps from the My Little Shoebox's Lovely day collection.

When I finished, I tied it up with some baker's twine to be opened by the special birthday girl.

Check out the Practical Scrappers' blog for more ideas from the design team.

My Little Shoebox and The Twinery HOP

Hello scrappers! I am super excited, this week My Little Shoebox and The Twinery are teaming up to give you lots of great inspiration and prizes!
I made this card using the My Little Shoebox's adorable Happy Go Lucky collection.

Hot air ballons are hot these days. This card was created using a simple round shape. I embossed the circle to give it dimension but the bumps also serve as a guideline to where my charcoal twine should evenly go.

The 'happy' strip is from the Lovely day collection. I cut the edge to resemble a flag and adhered it to a toothpick. It's a great card to brighten up anyone's day.

Keep hopping along!

Now check out Monika Wright's blog to what fun project she's made for the hop.

Thanks for checking it out!

Berry Birthday card with twine

Hello and happy Monday to you! Today on Practical Scrappers we are featuring Birthday cards. I made a fun one that I'd like to share.

I included a few instructions so you can make one similar if you like.

1. Have a folded card ready to go.

2.  Cut out an image of a strawberry and leaf using a Cricut machine. Throw the strawberry image out because we only need the negative space for this. Cut the negative sheet to the size of your card. Keep the leaf cut out.

3. Wrap twine from The Twinery around a piece of paper that is slightly larger than the negative spaced image (the strawberry).
Adhere the the twine onto the the top of your card and place the negative image over the top of the twine. I used a foam adhesive because the twine is pretty thick.

4. Personalize!

Check out the Practical Scrappers blog to see more ideas for Birthday cards.

Easter Sunday layout

Hi scrappers! Today I want to share a layout I made just for fun using the Lovely Day collection from My Little Shoebox. I decided to pull out my floral dies and get cutting.

I love the way paper flowers can look so realistic if you simply add some color to the edges and manupulate the petals for realistic wrinkles.

That's all for today! Enjoy your Monday!

Cards with My Little Shoebox

Hello fellow scrappers!  This month I was assigned to make some cards using the 'Up In The Trees' collection from My Little Shoebox. This collection is so darn cute, my cards came together like a breeze.

Happy Birthday

To make the large flower behind the rolled up rose, I positioned several of the flag cut outs from the Up in Trees 3D Roll-Up Flower sheet to resemble petals. It turned out great.
Supplies used: Up In The Trees Free As A Bird, In The Trees, Woodgrain Love, My Way, Flying High and 3D Roll-Up Flower sheet.

Sweet Love
For this card I cut my background shape from a die cut and cut a border using the same shape. The make the flags, I cut out two of the word strips from the cut out sheet and adhered them to toothpicks. A little grass and a few roll-up flowers make a nice scene.
Supplies used: Up In The Trees Free As A Bird, In The Trees, Heart On A String, Woodgrain Love and 3D Roll-Up Flower sheet

Thank You
I made this card a bit simpler to bring the focus to the cute hanging hearts. I embossed the pink bottom portion of the card and sanded it down a little for extra dimension.
Supplies used: Up In The Trees Free As A bird, Woodgrain Love, In The Trees and Heart On A String.

"Tweet" Love

For my final card, I added several layers and border strips. I used the bird as my theme in the title and added a small cluster of roll-up flowers.
Supplies used: Up In The Trees Free As Bird, Woodgrain Love, My Way, Bird's Eye View and 3D Roll-Up Flower sheet.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pucker Up with Helmar

Hello! If you're anything like me, you spend time preserving your precious photos through our love of scrapbooking. I know I want my creations and photos to last through all of time so that my children's children can enjoy them. I always make sure to use Helmar Acid Free glue on all of the backs of my photos and any element placed near my photos. It sets clear, it's non-toxic and it won't yellow. This stuff is great.

For this layout, I outlined everything with a Sharpie marker to make it all pop off of the white background. It gives it a nice, clean look.
To give my page dimension I cut out white starbursts and scattered them around adhering them with foam Helmar Zapdots. The banner and a few other elements are also adhered using zapdots.

Isn't my nephew just the cutest?

That's all from me today. Have a great week!

Together At The Park

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. If you like sketches, you're in luck! Creative Scrappers is having a fun crop with plenty of sketches to play with this weekend. There are some great ones so far so go check them out! I used their first sketch for inspiration in creating this page.

I used My Little Shoebox's Lovely Day collection. It is lovely, isn't it? All of my photos and elements are stuck on using nothing but good ol' Helmar.

I just love the sheet of 3D Roll Up Flowers. It adds great dimension and interest.

The photos in this layout are of my kids with my sister's family and my dad. We celebrated his birthday at a park in Provo Canyon. It was such a beautiful day and we had so much fun enjoying nature and the amazing waterfall. I am so lucky to have my dad. He is one generous, sweet man who loves his family dearly.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
