Ringing in the New Year!

Ready to ring in the new year?
Today I have a few New Years Eve rink-e-dinks to share with you using My Little Shoebox's Keepsake collection. I chose this collection because of its great colors and prints.

This hanging decoration is made to look like a clock. I used Keepsake's round die cut sheets (3 of them), folded them accordion style and put them all together. It's a large decoration, about 12 inches round and its going to look great hanging from the ceiling.

We have a tradition in my house that at midnight we let our children make as much noise as possible either with their voices or noise makers (which are often the same thing;)). I bought a package of party horns and altered them by covering them with My Little Shoebox paper and stickers.
And finally, a simple card to wish you all a Happy New Year. May 2013 be the best ever!

Star Inspiration Oranaments

I love the inspiration pieces we are given on the Pretty Little Studio blog. It allows  me to stretch my imagination to try new things.
This week's technique challenge is to use stars.
I made a few fun star ornaments using Pretty Little Studio's "Christmas At Home" collection and Pretty Little Studio's "Jingle Bells" collection.

I cut out each star with my electronic die cut machine and scored them to look 3 dimensional. I then cut out the smaller images from a few Christmas journaling cards and decorated my stars.
When you’re making home made ornaments, be sure to add glitter or glitter glue. The lights from the tree will make them sparkle beautifully.

To secure all of my elements, I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Baby Its Cold Outside!

Hello! Are you ready for Christmas? I'm just about ready...the presents are bought, now I just have to make cookies for the neighbors. My kids really look forward to the baking aspect of Christmas.

A few of us over at Practical Scrappers decided to use one collection and add our own color twist to it. "Peaceful" from Authentique was the perfect choice with its classy, elegant Christmas designs.
I chose to splash the collection with the traditional red and green Christmas colors.

I cut the paper poinsettias out with my Sizzix machine and added a few glittered trimmings from my stash of Christmas crafts. I never thought I'd use them on a layout but it works!

Check out the Practical Scrappers blog for more Holiday inspiration.

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

Just a quick post today...
Patty Selah over at Practical Scrappers created a really cute card sketch for us.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas here in Virginia. So far, no luck but there's still time! To compensate, I made my tree white. LOL!

I made the tree textured by adding bits of holly and snowflake die cuts. I rubbed it with a little glitter glue and the tree is complete.
Check out the Practical Scrappers blog for LOTS more takes on the card sketch.

A Jolly Ol' Sketch

Hello! Today I have a sketch to share with you. The Practical Scrappers DT created some FUN layouts using this sketch so be sure to check it out.

Here is my take on this sketch...

Jolly Ol'Elf

I strayed from the sketch slightly by added a circle and cluster of Holiday embellies.

Having An Adventure with Helmar and Simple Stories

Hello there!

The Helmar DT and Simple Stories are teaming up to bring you inspiration all week long. Simple Stories sent me their Take a Hike collection. What fun! I am married to family of big-time outdoorsmen so these papers are perfect for me!

Everything was glued down with Helmar's Acid Free Glue and the items that I really wanted to pop are adhered with Helmar's Zapdots.

My husband learned that if you hold the fish out for a picture than the fish look bigger...HAHA!

Christmas Kisses

If you haven't checked out Pretty Little Studio's Christmas At Home collection, you simply must.
It is adorably whimsical and festive.
My youngest is such a lover, he is my baby and even though he's 5, I'll admit it, I treat him like he is my baby. I will kiss him and hold his hand for as long as he will let me. All of you mothers know just what I'm talking about.;)

City Sidewalks with Memorable Seasons

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas...

This month I got to play with Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks collection from my monthly Memorable Seasons kit  -what fun!

Its been fun digging through Christmas pictures from last year. The Salt Lake Temple is extra beautiful this time of year. The lights and the feeling on the grounds are warm and wonderful. My little man is so cute with his rosy cheeks and Santa hat.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Make a Festive Burlap Wreath

What a wonderful time of year! I love making festive Christmas cards and decorations.
Let me show you how to make this unique, beautiful wreath using a Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive , a wire hanger, 12 3-inch strips of burlap, and Christmas decorations.

Untwist a wire hanger and shape in into a circle. Poke the burlap strips in the the wire, looping and twisting the whole way.

Twist the wire shut and decorate!

I pulled a few bulbs off the tree (shh...don't tell my kids) and secured them down using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive . I filled it up with leaves, berries, and glittered branches but you cna use whatever you have on hand.

Next, I have a fun card to show you. This card is 3 layered stacked card.

Helmar's Craft And Hobby glue was used to adhere my tress and all of its trimmings.

Notebook Card Inspiration

Hey there!
I have been waiting to use the Notebook collection from My Little Shoebox since it was released for summer CHA.
I finally got the chance with my assignments this month and it did not disappoint.

I made a unique background by layering it with a die cut which I cut from grey paper.
Products used: Notebook Truly Yours, Cardstock Stickers, Fog.

For this card I rolled several of the 3D Roll Up flowers and cut my card into a tag shape.

Products used: Notebook Always and Forever, Truly Yours, 3D Roll Up Flower and Accents, Morning Mist Trim.

When using a plain color on cards, its always a good idea to emboss the paper for added texture and interest.
Products used: Notebook Truly Yours, Cardstock Stickers, 3D Roll Up Flowers and Accents, Keepsake's Razzleberry.

Products Used: Notebook Truly Yours, Bits and Pieces, Cardstock Stickers, 3D Roll Up Flower and Accents.

I cut the large flower and vine from my die cut machine added a little bling.
Products used: Notebook Always and Forever, Truly Yours, Keepsake's Cherry.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!
