My Creative Scrapbook GDT Day 2

As promised, I have more to share using the main August kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

Its easy to see beauty everyday when you have a beautiful dog. ;) She is a pure bread Yellow Border Collie and we love her to death. She has so much personality and is just so sweet. Everywhere we take her people stop and point, she is just so pretty. I think she knows it too. Ha!

Again, I enjoyed creating with these beautiful papers. Get a kit for yourself, you'll love it!

My Creative Scrapbook GDT!

I was VERY excited to get asked to be a guest designer for My Creative Scrapbook this month! I was sent the cutest kit ever!
Check it out!

This kit includes papers from the Echo Park's Beautiful Life collection along with several other goodies like Prima flowers, Pink Paislee butterflies, ribbon and chipboard from Leaky Shed. Talk about cute! This kit was right up my ally.

While my kids are celebrating school being out, I plan on jumping with joy when school starts up again!!!! You moms know what I'm talking about, right? ;)

Sunday Sweets: Princess Sophia

I made this cake last weekend for a friend's granddaughter who loves anything princess, especially Princess Sophia. I did not put Princess Sophia herself on top of the cake but used the colors and style of her dress the whole way through and topped the three layers with a crown of jewels.

My husband and his brother looked goofy in their spear fishing outfits so they decided to ham in up and look even sillier. I love them!!

Sketchy Thursday

Hello! Today's weather here in No. Virginia is absolutely gorgeous and that puts me in a great mood. It's 72 degrees! I'll take it and love it after the heat wave we had last week...yuck!

I have a sketch to share today.

I was inspired by the large circle from the American Crafts Mayberry collection, which is so summery and adorable. A special thanks to My Creative Scrapbook for the kit!

Burlap Embrodery Hoop Decor

I scored a bunch of embroidery hoops at a yard sale for cheap...because, well, I am cheap. ;) I use to do a lot of cross stitching but not any more.

I used a piece of burlap for the background and decorated with flowers and birdhouses.

I made the shutter effect in the inside of the flower from an age-old paper folding technique. Its done by working from the back and placing strips of folded paper in a certain way. I found the idea in a paper crafting idea book from the library and I love the outcome! I think it looks pretty dang cool!
